The music
Progressive trance. Regressive management.
The music is played straight. A Honk Therapy set starts with room to breathe and builds for an hour from progressive into trance, with a turn into melodic techno when the room has earned it.
Coconut FM covers the hours in between. The paperwork, the clinic and the island are all optional. The kick drum is not.
The equipment is a mix of recent purchases and the scrapyard. Live, a DDJ-FLX10 running rekordbox. In the studio, FL Studio on a new Ryzen PC, a Scarlett 4i4, Yamaha HS8 monitors with an HS8S sub, and a sample library management has stopped counting. The archive holds an old Steinberg UR242 and a pair of JB Systems turntables bought nearly twenty years ago, kept for reasons the finance department, which is also the artist, declines to explain.
The records go back further than the goose would like. Internet radio first, around 2008, on donated hardware and enthusiasm. Early web streaming after that, then a long stretch of producing dance music, then another one.
At some point the music went quiet. Then a DJ controller arrived, a helmet came off a 3D printer in eight pieces, and the operation reopened under new management. The new management is the same person, wearing a goose.
The old recordings, studio files and unreleased work are filed under Palapa Records. Management has not decided what to do with them yet.
